Stampin' Royalty Challenge #87~ Theme: Back to School!

This week's Stampin' Royalty Challenge has a fun theme, Back to School!  This was perfect as "welcome back" presents for the boys' teachers were on my "to-do list":)

Don't you think the In Colour Ruffled Ribbon made the perfect little leaf on the apple?  I used the leftover pieces from the Triple Blossom Punch made the perfect little apple seeds!  If you're interested on a little video on how to make that apple, leave me a comment and I'll whip one up today!  Here's the link for the video that I did the following day:)  http://www.northshorestamper.com/2011/09/apple-video.html

As a teacher... I know that I'd be much happier to get some nuggets instead of an apple:)  Make sure to come and join us this week... I know that we'd all like to see what you come up with !

I was also so excited to be able to enter this in the Stamp Something weekly challenge which was Back to School as well!

My Brain Isn't Working...

Don't ask why, but I've had an awful headache for the past few days.  My craft room is cool and a little on the dark side as it is in the basement so I've spent a little more time than normal in it when at home during the day.  Although I've been able to craft, I've struggled with the whole thinking part, so I've relied on sketches and challenges to inspire me:)  This week's Sweet Sunday Sketch was what I used for my layout, and I used the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge for my colour scheme as they were suggesting a Monochromatic theme this week:)  Can you guess what sex the baby is that my mom asked me to make this card for?

Check out the new Shaker Frames that I used on the center rattle!  These are the same ones that I used on my Christmas card yesterday... you get a variety of sizes in the package.  I was really unsure about what one could possibly to with ones this small, imagine the jumping and squealing when I realized that they were the right size for my rattle!

Yippee! I was a winner:)

The new mini launches in just 2 days... but you know what that means, the current mini is done in less than that!  If there's anything that you're wanting from the current summer mini or if you want to take advantage of the BUY 3, Get 1 Free DSP promotion, let me know!  Anyone purchasing $50+ before taxes and s/h , before August 31st at 10:50pm PST will get a free set of the Shaker Frames mailed to them as a little present from me!

Scrapbook Club

I don't know how happy my girls were with their scrapbook layouts this month as there was quite a bit of cutting to be done:)  The colours from the Country Club Simply Scrappin' Kit are awesome though!  We used the same stamp set for this as I used when I made the wedding card for the Stampin' Royalty Challenge this week.  Talk about a different look!  Aren't the new stamp sets, Letter It and Number It perfect for scrapbook titles?

Are you interested in meeting with us once a month to complete a double page or two single page layouts?  If so, let me know!  I am more than happy to prepare pages for long distance members of our scrapbook club as well:)

Personalize Pennants... and ANOTHER challenge:)

Joe had a birthday party to go to the other day for a buddy named Lochlan.  Fortunately for me and the limited amount of space that I had for my pennants, Joe always calls him "Loch".  Joe really liked the idea that I was able to personalize this card for his friend:)  What do you think???  Too much for a 7 years old boy????

I was so excited when a girlfriend let me know that pennants were perfect for the Banner Bash Theme over at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  Yippee... two challenges entered in one week!!!
So excited... I was a winner:)

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #86-Bring on the Bling!!!!

It feels so good to be back creating with the girls over at Stampin' Royalty this week:)  These amazing ladies allowed me to take a little hiatus as we had been out of town for almost a month:) I was so excited when I saw that this weeks challenge was to add glitter... bling... anything sparkly!  Now, you're probably looking at my card and thinking, "well, there's not really a lot of that on her card!".  Actually, it is all the camera's fault that it appears that way!  This whole card is sprayed with the Vanilla Smooch Spritz... I just can't get the dazzling sparkle to show in my photo:(  You'll just have to take my word for it... or get married so that I can send you this card;)  This was really married for one of my hubby's fireman friends who is getting married to an amazing girl in just three weeks!  That reminds me, I need to find a dress!!!!!  Yikes!

Well, I really hope that you like this card and I'd love to hear what you think of this stamp set from the new catty, Creative Elements.  It is definitely a favourite of mine and I can't wait to show you how different it looks in my scrapbook page that I designed for this month's club!S

Is it possible that my mood is actually altered by successful creating?  I was giddy with excitement when I saw this sketch yesterday morning... simple, clean, and totally what I was in need of!  I was trying to figure out which stamp set would fit in those cute little squares and the first one that I came across was the Spooky Bingo Bits:)  Now I even get to enter a challenge this week... it just keeps getting better:)  Thanks so much for coming to look today... your sweet comments gave me the push that I needed to sit down and keep creating.  I'm definitely feeling over the hump:)  Make sure to check back tomorrow for my Stampin' Royalty Challenge Card:)

More Fun at the Lake

Click on the image to make it appear clearer:)

The second that I saw the new Well Worn DSP, I knew that it would be a favourite for me! I love the warm colours and the masculine feel to it. I had so much fun putting texture on this card with the new Houndstooth textured impressions embossing folder and the quilted Early Espresso ribbon (from the upcoming Holiday Mini). Petite Pairs is an adorable stamp set too... I love how each little stamp has a "follow up" stamp to complete the little saying if you'd like to or you can leave the first stamp on its own.

Sorry for the lack of posts. I'm away on vacation with VERY limited access to Internet. It is my dad's 65th birthday in just a few days and my mom was in need of a birthday card for him. Isn't This Stunning?

This gorgeous card was sent to me by my up-up-line:)  Isn't it beautiful?  I love the colour combo on this!  I'll admit that on its own, River Rock is not my favourite colour, but when paired with Chocolate Chip and in this case, More Mustard and Old Olive, it is really rich looking!  That polka-dot ribbon is to die for!
