Mojo Monday #107 Contest

Well, I sat down tonight to make some card samples for my club nights on Wednesday and Thursday. I've really wanted my ladies to get the chance to play with the Bride Specialty Paper #115669. They all have very different tastes when it comes to colour preferences so I decided to use this Foil Resist technique (simply rolling an inked brayer over this foiled cardstock, the ink won't be absorbed by the foil texture and you can wipe it off with a tissue:) to allow them the opportunity to play with the colours of their choice! Personally I'm in love with Rich Razzleberry at the moment:)

As I'm back at school now with what seems to be a heck of a lot less time on my hands; I've needed to find ways to fit in all of the things that I love to do with all of the things that I need to do:) I love participating in the Mojo Challenges as it often pushes me outside of my comfort zone. I decided to design my club card based on the Mojo Monday Sketch.

Such a Great Afternoon:)

This project was created using the Delightful Decorations (#116517) and Four the Holidays #116921 stamp set, the Ornament Punch #116794 the Petals-a-Plenty Impressions Folder #116824 and the absolutely gorgeous Christmas Cocoa DSP #116770. I had soooooo much fun with a fabulous group of ladies this afternoon for one of my workshops. The majority of them are all seasoned stampers so it was a lot of fun to do make-n-takes that pushed them a little. I had designed my little card portfolio as a 3-d make-n-take. I love changing things up a little so that people have some ideas for how to give the zillions of cards that we all seem to make as a gift. After I designed the portfolio I came across this adorable card designed by Natasha Z. in Alberta. I gave my hostess the completed folder (as she was busy making sure that her guests were all VERY WELL FED:) The portfolio holds 4 cards and envelopes perfectly. All of the ladies completed a card and coordinating envelope as well as their portfolio.

More With Window Sheets

After making this little project using the Thick Window Sheets (#114324), I'd been meaning to sit down and make a few more. This was my first attempt today! I love how the Thick Window Sheets go through the Big Shot (#113439). They crease perfectly and don't break where the creases are. I love the peek-a-boo effect of using the clear casing for my Matchbox Die (#144890). These little boxes of gift tags are a quick and easy gift for someone and better yet... they help me to use up all those little scraps of paper:) I know that I didn't show you the pretty side of the Matchbox, but I did this for a reason, I wanted you to be able to see that I used the Mini Glue Dots (#103683) to secure the little clear case portion together.

Second BS Club Card

Okay, I will admit that I can't resist calling it the the "BS" club (short for Big Shot club). BS just sounds more like what seems to go on at my house on these nights:) This card was done using the Big Shot Scallop Square Die #115950, Circle Scissor Plus #112530 and From The Crypt #115460 stamp set.

If you haven't already noticed, I absolutely love to mount my sentiments on a mat. The only problem is that not everything has two coordinating punches like the circle or ovals and their coordinating scallops. When the Modern Label Punch #116630 came out I was thrilled as I loved the shape of it, but I was disappointed that I couldn't mat it. (I'm much too lazy to cut out the mat:) Then when the Magnetic Movers and Shapers Punch Windows #115953 came out I was ecstatic! It creates a perfect mat for the Modern Label Punch. Yippeeeee!

A Little Excessive:)

I was just putting out the supplies for tonight's Crop Night/ Big Shot Club when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a main ingredient for one of the Big Shot club's projects! I needed the treats for the Sweet Treat Cups (#116802). I thought to myself, "No problem, my hubby is out running errands, I'll just ask him to stop and grab some M&M's or Skittles" When I mentioned that they were for a class tonight he thought that this meant we were eating them and not putting them into a card so he proceeded to come home with 2 GIANT bags of M&M's and a GIANT bag of Skittles! Guess what project we're going to be doing for club night next week!

The idea of wrecking the card to get into the treats made my skin crawl (LOL) so I decided to add a little door inside the card so that the treats could be accessed easily. All I did was cut the little sticky top flap off a Mini Square Envelope #107309 and slip the 1 3/4 " circle punch #112004 into it to cut out the circle on the front of the envelope. This punch is perfect for making the Sweet Treat Cup hole on a smaller piece of paper!

The card was actually done by cutting the card to size and adhering the Basic Black and Cast-a-Spell DSP #115667 to the front and then running it through the Big Shot with the Movers and Shapers Curly Label Die #114506 and the Magnetic Movers and Shapers Holiday Windows #116821. The image that fits perfectly around the treat cup is Sweet Centers #116521. The sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370 stamp set couldn't have been more perfect and it even seemed to have a "spooky" script. Finally I used the 1 1/4" Basic Black Striped Grosgrain #115615 to finish off the top of the card.


Now my only difficulty will be to keep this card away from my boys from now until class tonight:)

Stampin' Up Announces the Clearance Rack!

I had so much fun playing with the Simply Sent Cards Elements and More Thanks x2 card kit (#114594) the other night! I needed some QUICK thank you cards and this little kit was the perfect solution. I was able to add a piece of Old Olive cardstock that I punched using my scallop border punch. I just adhered it to the inside of the card so that it just showed under the original whisper white scalloped edge. The kit came with everything else I needed including the Old Olive Stampin' Spot, coordinating stamps, and the Old Olive ribbon. The envelope was finished off using my Big Shot and the Stampin' Up Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder (#115964). This has become a favourite gift of mine for friends who are new to stamping. It comes complete with everything they need to create their own cards and a storage case to keep it all together!

Final Founder's Circle Gift

Using Stampin' Up's new My Digital Studio, I quickly scrapbooked our our final pillow gift while at Founder's Circle. I love the fact that you can change the opacity of the background paper in order to make the stamps stand out more when using the same colour. Both the swirls from Frames with a Flourish and the DSP were done in Old Olive. With the My Digital Scrapbooking, it is like you just gained a hundred more shades of Old Olive:)

I'm sorry if my posting has slacked off a little this week. I'm adjusting to back to school. I know that everyone else did that a few weeks ago, but with being at Founder's Circle a couple of weeks ago I missed the first week that included school and all of the boys activities. Now that I've done it for a week I've realized just how good I'm going to have to be with my time for the next few months.
