West Coast Creators Regional Event Card

At my West Coast Creators team meeting last week, this was one of the make-n-takes that everyone made.  A little embarrassing, but after I'd designed and prepped this card, I realized that the Bashful Blue satin ribbon has already retired.  I would definitely recommend doing this same card with Real Red, Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze.... it is a great combo!  Then you could replace the satin ribbon with the Baja Breeze seam binding from the current mini!  Doesn't the coordinating envelope finish it off perfectly?

A Year in the Life of the McKays

This My Digital Studio calendar was so much fun to make!  For each month of 2011 I included my favourite photos from 2010.  This was the fastest project ever as I opted to use an amazing designer template that all I had to do was drag and drop my photos into.  I couldn't believe how quickly it arrived... I ordered on Sunday night and I had it on Friday!  I fully intend to make these for my relatives for Christmas next year... if I stay on top of it I can make my own version for next year as the months pass... I guess that I better get on January 2012!

Hostess Gift

 Sorry that I'm not posting until 10am today... I just didn't want to give away Shelley's hostess gift... or one of them anyway!  If you scroll down you'll see one of the cards that we're making at her workshop today... this is a CASE of the amazing Patty Bennett.  I loved the simplicity of this card!  As much as I study my SU catty... I was really stumped when I looked at the size of Patty's cards.  After the millionth careful look at the catty, I noticed that the notecards and envelopes are there on page 171.  Don't know how I missed this!  Anyway... I really wanted a nice little gift box to tie the whole thing together.  (I just used one of the clear stamp cases with an insert in the lid)  I've already made Shelley a set of 6 in addition to the ones that everyone will be making at the workshop today.  I really hope she likes it!

I'm going to be offering this as a class... watch for details coming up!

Getting Ready...

 My oldest son is 6 and a half years old and has yet to lose a tooth.  He is convinced that it will never happen:)  We have taken to calling him "shark boy" lately as he has grown a second row of teeth right behind his baby teeth at the bottom front of his mouth.  The dentist told us not to worry and that they would push forward once the baby teeth fall out.   In hopes of speeding up the process, Joe is constantly wiggling his two loose teeth.  I saw an adorable Melon Mambo sample similar to this a few months ago and had kept the idea in mind for the day that one of my boys actually needed it.  Maybe by making this little container I can "will" those baby teeth out of his mouth.  However, I'm really sad about losing his perfect little smile and moving on to that hilarious little gap tooth smile that comes next:) The container for this is just an empty little Stampin' Up brad/ button container that I had left over.

What A Amazing Day!

Today was my first large group event that I've held since becoming an SU demo.  Up until now, my group has been a manageable size to hold events at my house, but with the recent recruiting promotion our group grew quickly. We had fabulous WOW presentations, mini prize patrol, the most phenomenal swaps, make-n-takes and a yummy chili lunch courtesy of my hubby:)  Thanks for coming today ladies... I had a blast!!!  I promise to get back to posting tomorrow:)  Sorry for the hiatus, I don't seem to juggle well when it comes to bigger events on my plate:)
